Work is underway on a new 100’ Century model at the Astilleros Astondoa shipyard in Santa Pola, Spain. This yacht is expected to be launched next year and delivered just in time for the fall boat shows in Florida.
G Marine is overseeing the new build, which is the second unit in the beautiful Century series. Furthermore, this will be the first from the series to make her U.S. debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2019. We can’t wait to see it in person.
Internationally renowned designer, Cristiano Gatto, is responsible for the interior design on this the Astondoa 100’ Century. Inspired by sculpture and passionate about art, Gatto has turned his focus to luxury yacht projects in recent years.

The team of 12 designers has worked on luxury yachts from a variety of top European shipyards, including Hessen, Benetti, and Icon Yachts. In particular, Cristiano Gatto has developed a strong relationship with the Astondoa shipyard over the years.
Not only have the new yacht owners been pleased with these projects, but the yachting industry has noticed his find modern design aesthetic and attention to detail as well. The design studio received the 2014 Showboat Design Award and, in 2017, two yachts with interior design by Gatto were finalists at the prestigious World Superyacht Awards. One of these was the Astondoa 110’ Century named M/Y Sophie, which was launched in Miami in 2016.
“Yacht design is at the forefront of what I do, but by virtue of my experience as a sculptor I approach every project as a sculpture, with the overall design in mind but refining it to the smallest detail ... I love the aesthetics of function and the function of aesthetics. All my projects reflect my vision,” explains Gatto.
The Astondoa Century Series
Marking the centennial anniversary of the leading Spanish shipyard, the Century series was designed to embody the quality, tradition, and innovation of the famous yacht brand. G Marine celebrated this anniversary together with Astondoa at the Yacht Miami Beach event in 2016. Since then, the Astondoa Century has become one of the shipyard’s most popular lines in America.
The industry has praised it too. In fact, the Astondoa 100’ M/Y Ninitas was nominated for the World Superyacht Award last year in the ‘semi-displacement or planing two-deck motor yacht’ category.
