Wally Finds a New Home with the Ferretti Group
G Marine yacht brokerage wishes the Wally brand all the best on its next adventure. Early this year, Wally yachts joined the Ferretti Group. This nautical powerhouse encompasses one of the widest selection of yachting brands in Italy. The announcement was made at the Boot Dusseldorf held this past January. It was an unexpected event because Wally had not presented at the German boat show in nearly 15 years.
Wally yachts are known worldwide for their cutting-edge design and luxury details. Luca Bassani, the founder and owner of the Wally brand is positive about this move and how it will help the company to continue innovating for years to come. Over the next four years, the Ferretti Group plans to invest over €84 million which will be allocated towards development of the brand and new yacht models.
The Ferretti Group has gained more than just an exclusive license agreement with Wally yachts. Now, the European nautical conglomerate boasts an impressive range of well-respected yacht brands, including Riva, Pershing, CRN, Mochi Craft, Itama, Custom Line and, of course, Ferretti Yachts.
When Can We Expect to See New Wally Yachts?
We won’t have to wait much longer. These highly anticipated new yacht models by Wally will be constructed and launched from the Ferretti Group shipyards in Ancona and Forlì, Italy. The new partnership has already promised to unveil a brand new yacht model this fall. Fans will be able to get a live peak of the new 48 Wallytender at the 2019 Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
This first new day cruiser model is said to embody the high navigating performance and flexibility that have always been trademarks of Wally. With a fresh restyling, the Wallytender will sport a lightweight composite hull and have updated onboard features. Yachters will enjoy the larger, retractable swim platform, more spacious cabin and generous lounge seating. The standard engine package includes twin Volvo IPS 650 engines (totaling 1020 hp) that reach maximum speeds of 38 knots and easy-to-use joystick controls.
How Will This Advanced the Future of Yacht Design?
According to Bassani, yacht buyers are always looking for new features and advancement. The notable investment will breath new life into the Wally brand. It will enable further design innovation and component development, yet they are committed to maintaining the look and high-quality standards that have made the shipbuilder famous. The entire yachting industry is looking forward to seeing the new concepts that will be born from this collaboration.
Alberto Galassi, the CEO of Ferretti Group, is also positive about the blossoming partnership. The company’s goal is to help Wally develop its vision and work to bring the group to the top of the international yachting industry.
How Will This Affect Yacht Buyers in the U.S.?
Because of the recent acquisition, interested potential yacht buyers will have to get in contact with Ferretti Group brokers. G Marine will no longer represent the Wally Tender X.
